ASPECT represents more than 175 agencies that employ approximately 3,000 people, in more than 100 communities throughout British Columbia. Member agencies are comprised of non-profit and private organizations that provide a variety of services including career assessment, work and life skills training, employment counselling, and job placement. Their client groups include:
- New Immigrants;
- Persons with disabilities;
- Older Workers;
- First Nations;
- Youth at Risk;
- Unemployed;
- Other persons with barriers to employment.
Membership Application

As a member of the Association of Service Providers for Employability and Career Training (ASPECT) you are known as a leading expert in community-based employability training. You are a local organization with your finger on the pulse of economic and labour market changes. You support projects that provide employability and career training to those experiencing serious labour market difficulties. This means employers find employees with current and relevant skill sets and clients find and keep work. The result? Empowered individuals and strong communities.
Voting Membership
MEMBERSHIP is open to community-based employment training agencies that:
- Are either an incorporated and/or registered business or a registered non-profit society or corporation;
- Have operational autonomy from institutional based training;
- Operate in the spirit of community service,
- Demonstrate an attachment to the community
- Delivers direct service to clients
- Is not a provincial prime contractor or subsidiary
For an annual $200 membership fee members receive:
- Access to requests for proposals to administer ASPECT contracts in your region;
- Coordination and assistance with advocacy activities;
- Information about professional development activities;
- Reduced rates at ASPECT conferences;
- Reduced rates on ASPECT products;
- Regular email updates on news from the sector;
- ASPECTIVES e-newsletter subscription;
- Online access to the ASPECT membership directory and members’ only area;
- Access to data gathered through our research;
- Extended Health Group Benefits Plan offers ASPECT members excellent rates;
- The right to vote at the Annual General Meeting;
- The opportunity to be a Board member, regional representative, and/or executive member; and
- Certificate of membership
Satellite Membership
SATELLITE MEMBERSHIPS are a new option for agencies with multiple offices, increasing contact and services to staff of those offices. However each organization will only receive one voting privilege. Satellite membership is $100 per location.

ASPECT publishes the ASPECTIVES newsletter to members several times a year. Newsletters include: an update from the Chief Executive Officer, details on upcoming events, resources, articles of interest and much more.

Associate
AN ASSOCIATE is open to individuals and/or organizations that are committed to the principles of Community-Based Training and do not qualify as Voting Members. The fee is $100 per year.
Benefits and services available to Associates include:
- Notice of ASPECT professional development events;
- ASPECTIVES e-newsletter, bulletins and sector news;
- Extended Health Group Benefits Plan offers ASPECT Associates and Members excellent rates.
How to join:
Please complete the application form and return it to us. Once approved, ASPECT will send out a membership package including access to the online Membership directory, certificate of membership and further information on ASPECT. You will then receive copies of newsletters, update ‘hotsheets’, informative emails and have the ability to apply as a subcontractor for ASPECT contracts.
