Since 1996 ASPECT has been actively involved in social enterprise as a means to sustain our members and achieve triple bottom line. ASPECT's social enterprises include employment programs, events management, and products. Skills Connect, the Small Business Employee Training Program, and all ASPECT Programs, are delivered by local community-based trainers. Members are invited to bid on contracts brokered by ASPECT.
Current Programs
ASPECT currently offers the Skills Connect for Immigrants Program. This program provides assessment, career planning and counselling, training support and employment placement services. ASPECT service deliverers are available in four regions of BC, the Capital Region, Central and North Vancouver Island, the Interior and the North. The BC Skills Connect for Immigrants Program is part of the WelcomeBC umbrella of services, made possible through funding from the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia.
ASPECT has recently launched a new pilot program to support skills enhancement and training for employees of Small Businesses in BC. Eligible employees may need to obtain their GED, certification or other specific work-related skills. This program is also delivered by ASPECT member agencies in every region of the province. Funding is provided by the Ministry of Small Business, Technology and Economic Development.
