The Employment Readiness Scale™ (ERS) is an online assessment tool that:

  • Provides quick, comprehensive employability assessments
  • Links individual assessment results to an Action Planning tool
  • Measures client change as a result of interventions (pre/post)
  • Confirms when a client is employment ready

Who is it for?

Any employment and career services agency that is assessing people to determine where they are at and what they need will find the Employment Readiness Scale (ERS) useful and insightful. The scale is now available in English, French and Spanish.

Objectives

The Employment Readiness Scale (ERS) has five purposes:

  • to document client’s strengths and challenges with regard to becoming successfully employed;
  • to anticipate how much assistance the client will need to become employment ready;
  • to help make decisions about where to refer clients for further assistance;
  • to measure changes as a result of interventions; and
  • to predict employment outcomes.

How does a client benefit from using the Employment Readiness Scale?

Clients will identify their strengths and resources for dealing with challenges, gain insight into areas where they are not yet self-sufficient, learn which interventions would help them succeed at work, and measure their changes due to interventions.

An Overview for Case Managers / Counsellors

How does an agency benefit from using the Employment Readiness Scale?

The ERS offers a unique combination of benefits to clients, agencies and sponsors of career and employment services. It provides a quick, comprehensive initial employability assessment, with a detailed feedback report, and an action planning tool. Roll-up reports help the agency identify the programs clients need, demonstrate client improvement, and assess the effectiveness of interventions. This roll-up capability can provide excellent objective input for program planning and accountability reporting.

What are the costs?

Licenses to use the ERS are based on three-part pricing. There is a one-time set-up fee to establish the access codes and reporting links. There is an annual fee for access to the reporting functions that provide program review and accountability reporting. And there is a per-client access code fee that allows each client to take the ERS up to three times. Prices per access code depend on the number of access codes being purchased, with significant discounts for higher volumes.
