CCCBET Request for Expressions of Interest for Pan-Canadian Immigrant Study
The Canadian Coalition of Community-Based Employability Training (CCCBET) seeks expressions of interest from agencies that serve immigrants to research and document employment integration of immigrants outside Canada's three largest urban centres to be completed by December 2012.
Interested and qualified parties must submit their application form by June 30th at the latest.
Description of the project
This project is going to focus on employment integration of immigrants outside Canada's three largest urban centers (Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver). This Pan-Canadian study is looking into documenting twelve different employment models that are helping immigrants to integrate the labour market. The richness of this project comes from the fact that it will follow immigrants' pathways to employment inside twelve agencies throughout Canada that are providing a wide range of employment services. At the end of this three-year community-based research, the conclusion of these comparisons and findings will be disseminated and shared with employment agencies and key stakeholders that are dealing with Canada's immigrants' workforce.
Each agency will receive a compensation based on the number of participants (10-15) in their agency. The amount allocated per immigrant is $860 (this amount will be given in three remittances of $286) and it includes the compensation for the agency ($710) and for the immigrant ($150).
This Canadian Coalition of Community-Based Employability Training's (CCCBET) initiative is funded by the Government of Canada through HRSDC's Foreign Credential Recognition Program. ASPECT is the manager of this project for the BC Region. Three sites will be selected in BC.
