March is Community Social Services Awareness Month
In cities and towns across the province we staff group homes for people with developmental disabilities, we counsel and support immigrant families, we work in childcare centres and in transition houses for victims of violence; we provide women's services, and assistance for First Nations families. All these services are paid for by the provincial government.
We make a difference in your community every day. We know what services should be expanded at the local level and we have ideas about how programs should be improved so they better meet the needs of people in our province.
Community Social Services Awareness Month includes a call to action to draw attention to cutbacks and inadequate funding to this sector. Find out more at www.communitysocialservicesmatter.ca.
