ASPECT has incorporated a social enterprise - ASPECT Social Ventures Corp. ASVC offers events management, association management services, on-line training and product development as well as new and innovative solutions yet to be determined. The purpose of ASVC is to generate revenue for the sustainability of ASPECT so that we can continue our mission of supporting our members.
Social enterprise has gained widespread popularity around the world as a means for organizations to gain independence from government funding yet still meet their mission and mandate. "Innovative social solutions cut across the boundaries that traditionally separated non-profits, the public sector, and business. Increasingly business ideas and goals associated with the creation of social value are contributing to the understanding and actual attainment of lasting social change. " (CPRN Research Report 2009).
