This Lunch & Learn series is a monthly opportunity for frontline career development professionals (CDPs) to connect, share ideas, and strengthen professional practice.

This month, join Seanna Quressette from Douglas College.

Come find out about a program that is designed to give you the tools to work with whoever walks through the door for a career conversation. You will learn about the FCWC (Foundations in Career Wellbeing Certificate) program. We will explore key concepts of working in trauma-informed ways in career development, and learn new ways to work that support you.

You will leave with new words in your lexicon of trauma-informed practice and reflect on case studies. You will get to sample a bit of each of the five courses in the program that are designed to support you in your work with clients facing trauma and mental health challenges.

Seanna is a trained trauma therapist and a CCDP with over forty years of experience in the sector. Seanna helped design the Foundations program to assist CDPs with the real challenges facing you at work.

Session format

5 minutes: sector updates
20 minutes: featured topic or speaker
20 minutes: peer discussion

Sessions focus on real, frontline topics such as employer engagement, trauma-informed practice, and job search trends. Each 45-minute session is designed to be practical, engaging, and relevant to the work happening across the sector.

Who should attend

This session is intended for:

Frontline career development professionals
Program staff, supervisors, and managers
Others supporting employment and career services

Participation is free for frontline CDPs working at:

ASPECT member organizations
ASPECT affiliate member organizations
