Each year during National Volunteer Week, I take a moment to reflect on the leadership and commitment of the ASPECT BC Board of Directors. This group of dedicated volunteers plays a critical role in guiding our work and ensuring that we remain grounded in the realities of the communities we serve.

This year, I am pleased to welcome Aaron Clausen as our new President and Kirsty Peterson as our new Vice President. Devin Scott continues for a second year as Treasurer, and Coreen Jenner continues in her role as Secretary. Together, this executive brings strong leadership, sound governance, and a deep understanding of the employment services sector.

As CEO, I rely on the Board’s expertise to inform our advocacy efforts, both provincially and pan-Canadian. They bring diverse perspectives shaped by their organizations, regions, and the populations they serve. This breadth of experience strengthens our ability to contribute to policy conversations and ensures that community realities are reflected in the decisions that impact our sector.

The Board also plays an important role in identifying emerging issues. They bring forward what they are seeing on the ground, helping ASPECT respond in a timely and relevant way to member needs. That connection to our membership is essential, and this Board holds it at the centre of its work.

I would also like to thank our returning Board members for their continued commitment, and extend a warm welcome to our newest members, Darcie Davidson and Tamara Ritchie. We are fortunate to have such a thoughtful and engaged group supporting ASPECT’s work.
