Introducing ASPECT’s Lunch & Learn Series
We are pleased to introduce a new Lunch & Learn series designed specifically for frontline career development professionals. These sessions offer timely, practical learning in a format that is accessible and easy to integrate into busy schedules. Participation is free for staff of ASPECT member organizations, as well as our affiliate and individual members.
Upcoming Sessions
We are kicking off the series with two engaging sessions:
- May | Work Life Balance and Self Care Using the Medicine Wheel
Coreen Jenner, Certified Career Practitioner with the Okanagan Training Development Council, will guide participants through the four dimensions of balance: emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental. This session includes reflection, discussion, and a practical self-assessment tool.
- June | The Next Question and the Evolution of CDP
Steve Miller (Career Strategist) and Denise Reimer (Facilitator) from Implicit Career Services will explore the next evolution in career development by asking what clients will contribute. This interactive session includes discussion, reflection, and practical application.
Interested in Presenting?
We welcome facilitators from across the sector who are interested in presenting or facilitating a Lunch & Learn session. ASPECT staff will support you in shaping and delivering your session, making this an accessible opportunity to share your knowledge and practice with peers. Access and Individual Membership
As we prepared to launch, we recognized that not everyone knows if their organization is an ASPECT member. To make this easy, we encourage you to check with your supervisor or HR, or connect with us directly and we will confirm your eligibility. Our goal is to remove barriers so frontline staff can access learning and stay connected to the broader community of practice.
This also reflects an expanded opportunity for individual members to engage with ASPECT. Individual membership is ideal for retired professionals who want to stay connected to the sector, students pursuing careers in employment and social services (with proof of enrollment), and career development professionals who work as contractors or are the sole CDP in their organization. This category provides access to professional development, including the Lunch & Learn series, and also offers member rates for the ASPECT Conference, as well as our workshops and webinars. It is a strong value at any stage of your career. Please note that individual membership does not include voting status within the association.
Join Us
If your organization is not currently a member, or if you are working independently, we encourage you to consider joining. Membership supports access to learning, strengthens connections across the sector, and helps ensure that community-based employment services continue to play a strong role as economic first responders in our communities.
